Visiting Smith Tower for the first time was a delight, the old-timey elevator operator was a nice touch. I remember sharing what a time traveling experience it felt it was riding to the top floor for some of the best views of Seattle. Once upon a time the tallest tower in Seattle, it still very much provides a delightful experience among the trifecta of observation decks. No immersive footage can do it justice, an in person visit beats any mementos like this one any day. Between the Smith tower, the Columbia Center and the Space needle, I would absolutely recommend it, plus besides impeccable views some of the rooms with old telephone equipment and various other artifacts it can offer quick lessons of history and insights into the lives of those who came before us. To understand where we are forging a path ahead we need to understand where we came from and perhaps take a moment to reflect on the present.

This visited highlighted the importance of preserving our history, especially during our present times, regardless of who it offends.
